Hello, I'm Bilal, the founder and CEO of See't, and I'm so glad you've found your way to our About Us page. Warm welcome here!
The idea for See't began to germinate in 2010 while I was searching for universities in my hometown of Tangier, Morocco. As I considered options in the US, Germany, Japan, Korea, and China, I realized how difficult it was to truly experience a university and "see everything" before applying. I yearned for visual information – what did the dorms look like? Were they clean? small or big? What about the classrooms and campus? I needed answers to these questions, but the resources simply weren't there. I wanted to know anything and everything!
After careful consideration, I chose to pursue my higher education in China, earning a bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and a master's degree in Software Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
One evening in 2014, around 8 PM, while working on my studies, the concept for See't—"See it live"—crystallized. I immediately wrote it down in my "Notebook of Ideas," determined to build it one day, and went to sleep, excited about the possibilities.
In 2015, the technology and the market weren't yet mature enough for See't. I therefore focused on my graduate studies, pursuing a master's degree in Software Engineering.
Today, we're incredibly proud to announce that we've built it! Together with my Co-Founders Liang Yu and Nikmal A. Mazary, and partners Anass Sriri and Alexandre Marins, we have built See't. We learned invaluable technical lessons after launching our first version, See't 1.0. We took those learnings and completely rebuilt See't 2.0 from the ground up, focusing on improved quality, speed, and technology. We built it for ourselves, for the world, and most importantly, for you!
